PENNSYLVANIA - DISTRICT 26

Welcome to the 26th District of the Department of Pennsylvania of The American Legion. The district includes 23 posts within Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence Counties. The success of this District depends entirely on active membership, participation and volunteerism. We are always looking for eligible members to help us continue to build on our legacy, especially the newest generation of Veterans who can help us grow our programs and community involvement. Please take a few moments to look around our site and learn more about how The American Legion can help you while at the same time you can help The American Legion.

Meet the Commander

Dean Noechel - 26th District Commander

Dean M. Noechel was elected District Commander on September 28, 2024 to lead the 26th District at a special election held in Butler, PA. Dean has been a member of the American Legion for 22 years and has served at every level of the organization. He is most proud of his time as National Department Commander of the Year 2019-2020 and National Race to the Top District Commander 2015-2016. Dean is a native of Western Pennsylvania and returned home after serving his country and The American Legion in Colorado in 2020. I look forward to working with my fellow Veterans in Butler, Beaver and Lawrence Counties to make the 26th District a better place for our American Legion Family members and ALL VETERANS!

Legion Family Pages

Sons

Established in 1932, the Sons of The American Legion (S.A.L.) was created to pay tribute to the dedication and sacrifices of Legionnaires. S.A.L. is comprised of males from various age groups whose parents or grandparents served in the U.S. military and met the criteria for American Legion membership.

The Auxiliary (ALA) operates independently from the American Legion but upholds the same principles and ideals. Its membership comprises spouses, mothers, daughters, granddaughters, and sisters of American war veterans. Established in 1919, the ALA is committed to supporting veterans, the military, and their families.

Riders

The American Legion Riders has been established with the goal of advancing the objectives and mission of The American Legion, serving as a family-friendly motorcycle activity for members of The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary, and The Sons of The American Legion..
