Emblem & Poppy
What does the Emblem & Poppy Committee Do?
Annually, volunteers from the American Legion distribute countless vibrant red poppies throughout the area, in return for contributions aimed at aiding disabled and hospitalized veterans. The Poppy program offers numerous advantages to both veterans and the local community. Hospitalized veterans engaged in crafting these flowers have the opportunity to earn a modest income, contributing to their financial well-being and fostering a sense of self-sufficiency. Moreover, the physical and mental engagement involved in this activity yields numerous therapeutic benefits. Importantly, the donations are entirely dedicated to supporting veterans and their families.
