Keystone Boys State
What does the Keystone Boys State Program Do?
Boys State stands as one of the most esteemed and exclusive educational initiatives dedicated to instructing high school students in the workings of the U.S. government. This immersive program enables students to actively engage in and contribute to the functioning of local, county, and state-level government entities.
At Boys State, attendees acquire a comprehensive understanding of the rights, privileges, and duties that come with being enfranchised citizens. The instruction is impartial and focuses on the organization and functions of city, county, and state governments. The activities at Boys State are overseen by students elected to different offices and encompass legislative sessions, judicial proceedings, law enforcement demonstrations, assemblies, musical performances, and recreational events.
High school juniors are chosen by Legion posts to participate in this program, and in many instances, the costs associated with their attendance are covered by a sponsoring post, a local business, or another community-oriented organization.
