National Security
What does the National Security Committee Do?
The committee's primary responsibility is to oversee and organize District activities dedicated to ensuring the peace and security of the United States through National and Homeland Security efforts. They achieve this by offering educational programs that provide citizens and the youth of Pennsylvania with opportunities to learn about law enforcement responsibilities and training from various city, county, state, and federal agencies. The committee also manages the administration of the ROTC and National Guard Recognition Program and the Blood Donor Program.
Furthermore, this committee plays a key role in formulating, suggesting, and implementing policies and procedures to raise awareness of the POW/MIA issue among the District's membership. They also supervise and coordinate national programs related to POW/MIA concerns within the District. In addition, they work on creating and recommending policies and procedures to honor Fire Fighters and Police Officers, encouraging all Posts within the District to participate and forwarding Post winners to the Department for consideration in Department and National competitions.
