POW/MIA Program
What does the POW/MIA Program Do?
The American Legion has maintained a steadfast commitment to collaborating with both Congress and the Department of Defense (DoD) in enhancing policies and initiatives aimed at ensuring the accountability of missing individuals. This ongoing effort involves advocating for sufficient funding from the president and Congress to support the endeavors of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency Office (DPAA), both in its present operations and for its future missions concerning the accountability of U.S. service members. The American Legion remains dedicated to vocalizing its stance and exerting significant pressure on both the administration and Congress to ensure the comprehensive accounting of America's POW/MIAs.
