Women Veterans Program
What does the Women Veterans Program Do?
The American Legion is committed to creating an environment where every woman veteran, whether she enters a Post or a VA medical facility, feels that the space was thoughtfully designed with her needs in mind, eliminating any lingering impression of a "For Male" only facility. In response to the growing number of women veterans, The American Legion's National Executive Committee adopted Resolution 14 in September 2016. This resolution calls upon the VA to guarantee that all women veterans receive high-quality, gender-specific healthcare and are treated on par with their male counterparts. To The American Legion, a veteran is a veteran, and their needs should be equally respected.
